Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is recognised internationally and is symbolised by a gold ribbon. Annually, childhood cancer foundations around the world raise support, funds and awareness for childhood cancer in the month of September. This includes yearly campaigns that bring light to the impact of the disease on patients, families and caregivers, as well as fundraisers to help the families of children with cancer.

Children’s Cancer Foundation organises engaging awareness campaigns to commemorate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month every year since 2016. Over the years, CCF also works closely with KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) to support its activities as part of KKH’s Childhood Cancer Awareness event.

Every year, an average of 164 children are diagnosed with cancer, most commonly among 0 to 4 year olds. Leukaemia is the most common cancer among children, with an 86.9% overall survival rate.
